Thomas Trojer – Technology has to perform

Longstanding experience and a sustainable mindset lead to tailormade solutions. Thomas Trojer is an industrial engineer, talented mathematician and designated engineering contact at ClimaGrün. He adopts a goal-driven mindset to his job, solves problems and turns visions into reality – down to the last detail.

In 2017, the ClimaGrün team embarked on a vision. They wanted to adapt and extensively enhance green roof solutions to reflect requirements related to climate change.

In 2018, the idea of a thin water storage layer was born. The project was spearheaded and pulled off by Thomas Trojer and Klaus Kornprobst.

With renowned partners, (the Fraunhofer Institute Italy, NOI Techpark South Tyrol and MAC-Minoprio), the thin water storage layer was tested, analysed and certified over a two-year period. An agronomist called Dr Massimo Valagussa analysed and documented the ClimaGrün roof system throughout the trial period.

Patent and certification for ClimaGrün’s thin water storage layer

After years in development and in-depth testing, the invention was finally registered for patent. The rainwater storage solution was the perfect response to climate change challenges and multiple problems.

The ClimaGrün roof system is currently the most efficient green roof solution for tackling the challenges associated with climate change.
